The city of Grand Blanc is located just 45 minutes north of Metro-Detroit and less than an hour to Lake Huron. The excellent location and prestigious school systems have made it a popular location for generations of families. Grand Blanc Township encompasses the city Grand Blanc and the surrounding area. The city offers state of the art medical centers, fine cuisine, and a wide array of shops and stores. Grand Blanc is also home of the world headquarters for General Motors Service Parts Operations and the award winning Genesys Regional Medical Center.

One of the main points of pride in Grand Blanc is the school district. Consisting of the city and township, as well has parts of surrounding communities, Grand Blanc Community Schools have consistently shown dedication to ensure that each and every student has the opportunity to succeed. The 2015 Senior Class will be sending over 600 students to some form of higher education. The bulk of the senior students, according to the school's website, will be pursuing a degree at a 4 year college or university. All in all, over 86% of Grand Blanc's seniors will be continuing their education at the next level. Bravo!

Recently, Grand Blanc was honored as one of the top cities in Michigan for fostering entrepreneurial growth and economic development. As a four star city, Grand Blanc saw over $475 million in commercial construction and issues nearly 1,800 commercial construction permits. In addition, over 75 percent of four star communities had shared economic development programs and half had full- time economic development employees on staff. The study, conducted by iLabs, University of Michigan-Dearborn's Center for Innovation Research, identified Grand Blanc and a few others for their practices, innovative programs and best strategies geared toward new business development.

One couldn't mention Grand Blanc without mentioning golf. Home to many top notch public and private courses, Grand Blanc is one of the premier destinations for golfing in the area. Situated just south of the city limits, Warwick Hills Country Club was host to the annual Buick Open Golf Tournament, the first corporate sponsored PGA tour and the only PGA tour event held in the State of Michigan. After its creation in 1958, the Buick Open became one of the PGA Tour's most prestigious events. The final tournament was won by Tiger Woods in 2009.
